Do I need a Google API key to start generating images?

Yes. Image generation runs on your own Google API key, so you'll need one before you can create images. They're easy to create in Google AI Studio, and once you've added yours to myda you can be generating visuals within minutes.

What is an API key?

An API key is a private access token that lets myda talk to Google's image models on your behalf. Think of it as a password for the Gemini API: you create it in your own Google account, add it to myda, and every image you generate is billed by Google directly to you — at their real price, with nothing added on top.

How do I get my own API key?

Create one free in Google AI Studio — it takes about five minutes. Sign in with a Google account, open the API keys section, create a new key, and add it to myda. To generate images you'll connect a billing account so Google can charge you directly at their standard rates. Read the full guide →

Is my API key safe?

Yes. Your key is encrypted with Google Cloud KMS — a hardware-backed vault whose master key never leaves Google — so it is never stored in plaintext and never sent to your browser. It is decrypted only to make a single call to Google on your behalf, and you can delete it here or revoke it in Google AI Studio at any time. Read our security note →

Is myda really at no additional cost?

Yes. You generate on your own Google API key and Google bills you directly. myda never marks up image usage — we only charge a flat fee for the tool and the hosting that lets you use your own key safely.

Can't I simply generate images in Google AI Studio, or Gemini?
